This past June, I collaborated with Planet Word on an illustration promoting their free, all-ages community event, entitled We Sing America: Planet Word Celebrates the 4th of July.
Planet Word is an immersive language experience located at the historic Franklin School in Washington, DC. Planet Word is the world’s first voice-activated museum, featuring immersive galleries and exhibits for visitors of all ages.
Sponsored by WAMU, the sing-along featured renowned singer Nolan Williams Jr., who led the crowd in songs celebrating the history of America, just in time for the nation’s 250th anniversary.
The illustration pictures Williams Jr., a chorus and a band in Franklin Park alongside a community of picnickers and attendees just outside of Planet Word’s home in the historic Franklin School (on the corner of 13th and K Streets in downtown Washington, DC).
My work for the museum once again builds on the lovely design, patterns, icons and brand guidelines developed by Eighty2degrees Design Studio.
