The National Landing Business Improvement District (BID) is a public-private partnership established to promote and activate the area’s business, retail, restaurant and residential community.
National Landing is an area in Northern Virginia encompassing parts of the Crystal City and Pentagon City neighborhoods of Arlington County and the Potomac Yard neighborhood in the city of Alexandria that has been announced as the location for Amazon.com, Inc.’s HQ2 headquarters project.
The BID approached me to create a report for their action plan, titled Equity Forward. This piece outlines a “actionable steps for the BID, it’s businesses, and the greater National Landing community to work together to build a more inclusive community.”
In addition to the report, I created a series of icons that expand on the identity system originally conceived for National Landing by Pentagram.
