Another year of work has passed on the Urbanworld® Film Festival, the largest internationally competitive festival of its kind. The annual five-day festival includes narrative features, documentaries, and short films, as well as panel discussions, and live staged screenplay readings. Over the last seventeen years, Hollywood studios, indie film distributors, and established and emerging filmmakers have consistently chosen Urbanworld to premiere box office and award-winning hits. This year featured premieres of the comedy Baggage Claim (starring Paula Patton), the HBO drama Boardwalk Empire, as well as the drama The Inevitable Defeat of Mister & Pete (starring Jennifer Hudson).
In my fourth year with the festival, my work included updating our branding and creative across all platforms (print, web/social media, and video), and incorporating new key art (a grid of New York city and its rail system interspersed with icons such as boom boxes, microphones and video equipment).
